		<description>I remember my buddy Bill most of all.  He was dumb as a post school-wise, but would give you his last drop of blood if he thought you needed it.  He could also sit in a mudhole for months on end and still wake up smiling.  That guy loved the Army.

As much as I like the concept of citizen soldiers, at last count there were over 37,000 non-citizens serving in our military in combat zones.  I couldn&#039;t find a count of non-citizen casualties, but with those kinds of numbers there&#039;s likely some.  I&#039;d say we should reflect on that, too.  There&#039;s people who believe enough in the American dream to fight for it without even the guarantee of making it to the end.  That&#039;s a certain kind of special, the kind that makes your chest swell up with something other than pride.</description>
