Stony River’s Microfiction Monday #1
December 27th, 2009
I know this doesn’t quite fit the tenor of this blog site… but I did say I’d try anything that caught my fancy… Susan over at Stony River provides a fun little exercise each Monday called Microfiction Mondays. She explains everything over there, so I’ll just get to business with her logo and trigger picture:
And here is the triggering picture:
At a much later date in our lives we
might have fled the room, but this
treasure of possibility at ages five and eight โ
body armor, serious slingshots, traps of all sorts!
Now that was fun, Cheers all!

I can just see two little boys strapping these on as body armor and having a slig shot war! LOL!
LOL, that was good. Having all boys I can see how one with an active imagination could find all sorts of neat uses for this!
@Quilly ~ Quilly, it embarrassed my poor mom to tears, made my dad laugh hysterically, and earned my brother and I what might be considered a “time-out” in modern terms. Actually a swat with a wooden baking spoon for ruining some “perfectly fine things.” Now that I’m a little older, I’m sure my dad paid a price for “encouraging that horrid behavior.” ๐
@Barbara H. ~ my condolences Barbara! ๐ I’ve four girls myself, and personally (after seeing what a terror my brother and I were), I think I have it much easier than those of you poor souls with boys!
OMG!!
I just got a visual of any little boys running past strapped into these things, armed with yardstick swords and pantyhose slingshots, oh it’s TOO GOOD! This one should win a prize ROFL
I’m always amazed at what these illustrastions inspire: memories are even better. Thanks for sharing this one, I’m still laughing!
@Susan at Stony River ~ At creative sites like yours, I tend toward being a lurker; I sneak in and read everybody’s entries. Your various challenges provide great fun and introductions to wonderfully imaginative sites! Thank you!
I can only imagine a double barrel sling shot blowing some dead eye shots right on target lol.
Walk In My shoes
@larry ~ We gave it an honest try ๐ though our aim wasn’t quite dead on.
